In John 10: 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
the words sheep, hear, know and follow are all active/ relational words involving faith as a result of His voice. (Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God)
The most imp word in John 10:27 is the one which ties the relationship together it is “know” this implies intimate relationship between the Lord and the individual. In the Greek it is ginosko. A word study on that would provide a deeper meaning to the entirety of the passage as it goes into the essence of relationship between the believer and the Lord. For instance towards the end of the sermon on the Mount in Matthew 7:23 the Lord speaks of judgement day and says “depart from me ye who work iniquity I never Knew you.”
Being God He had knowledge of everyone , so digging deeper would show again “relationship” or in this case a “lack thereof”
rather than just a general knowing about “.
So the passage in John 10 stresses faith and action ( one hears, and follows) as a result of personal, intimate relationship with Christ. As opposed to the lack of faith and personal, intimate relationship in Matthew 7:23.
